Actor Sean Penn, who is helping manage a camp of displaced earthquake victims in Haiti, is making pointed criticisms of journalists for dropping the ball on coverage of Haiti. He's wrong. I've been on the ground in Port-au-...

Haiti remains in critical condition despite all the good work by all the good people over the past six months. Over 1 million people remain displaced as they live in makeshift camps. Very little rubble form the earthquake damage has actually been cleared. Billions of dollars have been raised, but numerous governmental and non-governmental agencies are unable to put that cash to work. The government of...

Meanwhile, the lives of Haitians on the ground...

Then we will be onto the oil spill, the terrorist attacks in Uganda, the last minute goal in the World Cup and other issues facing of the world. A number of...
Rebuilding Haiti is a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it. For a few days this summer, I got to be one of many American do-gooders who dropped into a disaster zone and, armed with pickaxes and shovels, zealously cleared rubble from the remants of collapsed buildings.
Occasionally locals have been inspired to join volunteers working on these sites, and then gotten confused upon...
